Born with guitars in their hands, harmonies in their blood, and sunglasses permanently in place, the Griffin Brothers—Alex and Ricky—are a Canadian country duo blending 90s country nostalgia with modern energy. Hailing from Kitchener, Ontario, the brothers grew up in a house where Keith Whitley, Travis Tritt, and Joe Diffie were always cranked up, shaping their sound from day one.
Raised in a family of country musicians, the Griffin Brothers hit the stage at the tender age of two. Though their teenage years took a detour into pop punk, they returned to their roots in 2018, inspired by the revival of traditional country sounds. Drawing influence from Luke Combs, Zac Brown Band, and Chris Stapleton, they began crafting music that fused their classic country upbringing with the boldness and edge of their musical evolution.
Both classically trained multi-instrumentalists from Eastwood Collegiate Institute, Alex and Ricky bring a depth of musicianship that sets them apart. Their breakout single “Rust On It” put them on the map in 2019, with over 20,000 streams and a spot on SiriusXM’s Top 40. Their 2021 summer anthem “Beer Happy” further expanded their reach across Canadian radio and country playlists, earning them recognition in Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, and Quebec.
Now back in the studio, the Griffin Brothers are gearing up for their next chapter with their upcoming single “Full Stop”—a high-energy love-at-first-sight anthem, produced by CMAO nominee Shawn Moore and written by country heavy-hitters Doug Folkins, T.J. Simpson, Adam Sickler, and Dan Harrison. With stellar musicianship, killer hooks, and their signature harmonies, “Full Stop” promises to be a summer smash.
Whether you’re lakeside with a cold one or road-tripping with the windows down, the Griffin Brothers deliver feel-good, rootsy country music that hits home. With their debut EP on the way, this brotherly duo is ready to crank the good times to 11—and bring country back, their way.
